FINALLY ! a well earned holiday.
Okay, before that, three things I've learnt this week:
1. F-16s fly faster than mach 2 (or around there I think) and their thunderclap are REALLY eardrum bursters, but it seems that ours are faster than even any other around the world. that's really typical of the SAF, we buy military equipment, modify it till it's like first class technology in a second class piece of hardware. wonder why they always execute the bomb burst manoeuvre for every single national day though, must have a significance to it.
2. Civil Servants can work much faster, and all it takes is one guy. and that's me. no, I'm not shitting you, I tried for one single moment, and it really did. see ? all it really needs is proper pushing in the right direction.
3. Babies require 10000000000% attention. and I just realised that when I interacted with my nephew, Samuel, last tuesday. they really really
really add a smile to your face
=) Yeps.. oh and yes, finally !! an overseas holiday at last. geez. won't be back till next tuesday. can't wait !! there's really so much stress built up in me already when it's so relaxing in the civil service. wonder why =/

Stealth was a good movie, not in general, but in a starship troopers way. I know people don't really think much of films like these, but I appreciate 'em just for all the brainless action and killing and fighting and boom boom and pow pow and all the whaam bam kazaam. there's a lot of flying and dog fights, then there's the all too familiar theme of how dangerous Artificial Intelligence can be to the human being himself. Eddy, the A.I. plane, was, in every sense, state-of-the-art.
Eddy kinda messed up, though everyone would first blame him, isnt he/it exactly like an infant that's just been overloaded with info into his head ? Eddy's bound to mess up, which he did, and unfortunately leading to the death of one of the three protagonists (are you surprised he's black, Jamie Foxx he may be) then he starts thinking and (possibly) feeling like a human being does, redeems himself/itself by saving the day, or night as in the film. but the way Eddy died was quite... anti-climaxed, though it's kinda hard to say, now that I think of it, since he/it needed to take a desperate suicidal measure to save his human counterparts.
Why is it that people are already dissing the concept of A.I.s, when it's not even concrete yet ? give it a chance man, no one's giving anybody chances these days. we really gotta give risk a chance once in a while, especially for the hopeful ones ! like A.I. who knows, after all the deaths caused by cock-ups and errors, A.I.s'll probably save hundreds and thousands of lives in the future of warfare.
